A Non-Profit Community Organisation in Oldham

The Real African Housewives of Manchester is a non-profit community organisation based in Oldham that focuses on empowering African women, advocacy, and social cohesion. RAHWM is dedicated to creating a united voice and advocating for social justice, equality, and integration within the community using non-partisan approaches.

Our organisation helps economically vulnerable women by providing quality accommodation, wellbeing support, educational opportunities, and cultural awareness programmes. We work with various regulators and service providers to facilitate access to housing and welfare. They facilitate access to crucial information and resources, as well as advocate for their members. RAHWM’s mission is to create a platform to study culture and civilization in Africa, advocate for the participation and development of the African community, promote integration within mainstream society, coordinate and organise activities for its members, and provide support.

RAHWM provides its members with educational and awareness programmes, celebrates Africa’s culture and civilization, and encourages cultural exchange, working with primary and secondary schools to teach students about African cultures, values, and traditions. Furthermore, RAHWM promotes a position for its members that is fair, due rights, and justice, as well as tackling disadvantage and discrimination in an effort to improve social cohesion in the community.

RAHWM’s story began with a need to establish a united voice to address disadvantage in the African community in Greater Manchester. Believing that African people should actively participate and play a full, efficient, and participatory role in public life, RAHWM focuses on educational programmes and awareness-raising events as well as partnerships to encourage a better understanding of African culture. This non-partisan approach allows everybody to engage in political affairs, social issues, and community projects, and RAHWM strives to promote cooperation and integration among members, reaching consensus and unity for later dates.

The main goals of RAHWM include providing better living conditions for the most vulnerable, engaging and educating other Africans, refugees, and people from the diaspora about African culture, mobilising cultural and community events, and promoting valuable cultural exchanges with other citizens and legal residents of the UK or Manchester.

We invite all members of the community and interested volunteers to contact us through our contact form for more information about how to get involved in our activities or programmes. Our mission is to create a platform for African women to explore and preserve their culture and to drive the development of resources and job opportunities in those areas. We strive to make our mission a reality and invite you to join us in our endeavour.
